Growing up on the coast of Maine lead me to two life-long interests.  One, nature, was always present in the waves, the sea ledge, the trees, meadows and wildlife.  The other, technology, surfaced in the shape and function of the boats my parents built and in the complex systems that kept them operational, electrical, fuel and cooling, navigation, lines, blocks, sails and spars.  In my work, these interests translate into a focus on pattern and construction and on how what we build can be of service.
